BWT (Butterfly Wing Tsun); DVT (Dynamic Wing Tshun); VT (Ving Tsun); W.T. Leung Ting (Wing Tsun Leung Ting); WC (Wing Chun), e.t.c, among these stated are other series of Martial Arts with the same origin: WING CHUN (from the Chinese great grandmaster named Yip Man), however, all work in different forms.

BWT (Butterfly Wing Tsun) was formed in Madeira (Portugal) in 2006, by instructor Aurelio Goncalves, in which he has a vast experience of 19 years of Wing Tsun. His first steps of learning came about in Germany and Spain. Besides these experiences, Aurelio Goncalves also learnt Chi Kung and Escrima. Further more, it was he who widely spread, for the first time in Portugal, Wing Tsun teachings, more precisely on the Madeira Isles, since 1993.

BWT is an arte of Kung Fu that consists of self-defense and the well being in which we try to evolve a correct posture and self-control. This training is based essentially on the balance of the body working together with the whole muscular system, being that the muscles are the motors of our movements and are extraordinarily important to the human organs, participating in various functions on making the respiratory movements on the thorax region, controlling the blood flow in the arteries. The human body has around 650 muscles, which represent approximately half the man’s body weight and a third of the woman’s.

During BWT training, the strikes, kicks and steps are short and dynamic. In the first stage, the student learns to know and handle their bodies, being that this needs a lot of work and patience! Both on the instructor’s side and the student’s. From this, the importance of knowing how to learn to overcome the difficulties that their bodies might come to during training. During the advanced stages, the training concentrates more on movement and technique perfection, originating self-confidence that is essential for self-defense. BWT training is not violent, but uses strength (a strength used in all muscles), a cautious strength, adequate and adapted to each individual. After a certain period of training, the student feels a satisfaction and well-being, both physically and mentally
