The system of grading in Butterfly Wing Tsun is as follows:
There exists 4 phases of grading in Butterfly Wing Tsun , that characterise themselves in stages.
1st Beginning stage of the student
2nd Technician Stage
3rd Advanced Stage
4th Study Stage
1st Beginning stage of the student: BWT
There are 12 stages for students.
Beginner: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th (Siu-Nim-Tau) and (Chim-Kiu)
Advanced: 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th (Dynamic Chi-Sau)
Higher: 10th, 11th and 12th (Automatic movements and relaxation of the muscles)
2nd Technician Stage: BWT
Goes from 1st until the 4th Stage (techniques in Muk-Yan-Chong and Biu-Tze)
3rd Advanced Stage: BWT
Initiates from the 5th until 6th Stage (Advanced). These practitioners become the “Experts” and “Masters” of Wing Tsun, with many years of Chi-Sao (a technique). These students gain force, speed and automatic reactions with the punches.
4th Stage of study: BWT (Final)
7th Superior stage. The practitioner has to be capable of knowing how to explain, not only the techniques of Wing Tsun, but also all other martial arts.
